Yanapaccha is a stunning mountain in the Cordillera Blanca, ideal for training and acclimatization. Located in the Llanganuco Valley, it offers climbers breathtaking views and a rewarding ascent experience.

ITINERARY

Day 1. Huaraz – Moraine Camp (4900m)

We drive to kilometer 42 in the Llanganuco Valley, then traverse and hike up to the moraine camp. The drive takes 4 hours, followed by a 3-hour walk.

Day 2. Moraine Camp – Yanapaccha Summit – Moraine Camp – Huaraz

We leave camp early for the summit attempt. After approximately 8 hours of climbing, we return to Huaraz with a 4-hour drive.

Basic mountaineering skills are essential.

Fitness and Acclimatization:

  • It is essential to be in excellent health, good physical condition, and properly acclimatized to the altitude.
Insurance:

  • Having suitable insurance is crucial for high altitude activities. Please ensure your policy has the appropriate level of coverage.

  • Warm Hat: that covers your ears and fits under a helmet
  • Sunhat: to protect your face and neck
