ITINERARY
We set off on a 1.5-hour drive, passing through charming Andean villages and scenic landscapes before arriving at the trailhead (3,900m).Our trek begins on a well-marked path through the Rajucolta Valley, following a gentle incline alongside a crystal-clear river. Along the way, we pass grazing livestock, colorful wildflowers, and breathtaking mountain vistas.
After about two hours of hiking, we reach the lake, where the majestic Huantsán Mountain (6,369m) towers in the background. We take time to rest, enjoy some snacks, and fully appreciate the beauty of this remote spot. We then make our way back down, enjoying a leisurely descent with stunning scenery before driving back to Huaraz.
